Cat. #00152933: EARLE HODGINS

Impossibly rare vintage inscribed blue ballpoint pen signature on a 4x5-inch tan album page, acquired in-person in the 1950s.  In very good condition and ideal for matting.  Note that the image of the star shown alongside the autograph here is not actually included.  With over 350 film and television credits, absolutely unforgettable character actor Earle Hodgins was typically cast as fast-talking, dishonest carnival barkers, door-to-door hucksters and medicine pitchmen, often shooing away unruly children by saying "Go away, son, ya bother me!"   He is also remembered as the voice of Porky Pig in the 1930s.  Career highlights include The Affairs of Susan (1935), The Bishop Misbehaves (1935), King of Burlesque (1936), The Walking Dead (1936), Come and Get It (1936), The Pride of the Yankees (1942), Deep in the Heart of Texas (1942), Batman (1943), Calling Dr. Death (1943), The San Antonio Kid (1944), Crime, Inc. (1945), The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), Song of the Thin Man (1947), The Return of Rin Tin Tin (1957), If You Knew Susie (1948), The Big Clock (1948), Show Boat (1951), City of Bad Men (1953), East of Eden (1955), Guys and Dolls (1955), The Fastest Gun Alive (1956), The Oklahoman (1957), "Gunsmoke" (1957-1963), Up in Smoke (1957), "The Donna Reed Show" (1962), "The Twilight Zone" (1962), and The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962).
